final reflection: future me will still love books

future me will still love books
the brick and mortar type
the ones that smell either new
or old from the many adventures they have been in

future me will still love being outside
noticing how plants grow, or birds sing
noticing my breathing as I walk a trail

future me will still value diversity
and kindness
and friendship

that love will guide my practice:
the teaching and learning I will do
as a teacher

technology in the future will still be in a complicated relationship with humanity
but that doesn’t mean it will take away the things that make life worth living:
playing
art
connecting
presence
relating
trees
community
joy
curiosity

because I refuse, like many others, to let these things being taken away from me, from us
some might use technology for their greedy fingers
but greed will always perish
and joy will prevail
